AREA BASEBALL Flyers nip Sartell in 10th

SARTELL — Joe Tuholsky walked with the bases loaded in the top of the 10th to put Little Falls ahead and Joey Hanowski followed with a two-out, three-run double to lift the Flyers past Sartell 7-3 in a Central Lakes Conference game Thursday night.

Hanowski finished 2-for-4 with four RBIs. Matt Valentine and James Pettit were both 2-for-4 with doubles for the Flyers.

Aaron Hallberg got the win, pitching three innings in relief of Josh Wenzel.

Sartell tied the game 3-3 with two out in the bottom of the seventh.

“It’s a credit to our kids for not caving in,” Flyers coach John Hanowski said. “We’ve given up leads lately and allowed them to turn into losses so this was big, positive step forward for us.”
