Cardinals fifth in own tournament

STAPLES — Emily Israelson tied for fourth and Kristen Schneider tied for seventh to help lead the Staples-Motley Cardinals to fifth-place in the 16-team Staples-Motley Invite Saturday at the Vintage at Staples.

Israelson shot an 82, finishing six strokes behind medalist Kourtney Williams of Becker. Schneider came in at 84.

Pequot Lakes finished eighth and was led by Savannah Stone’s 89. Amanda Kramer’s 96 led 12th-place Wadena-Deer Creek and Amy Spaid’s 115 led 15th-place Crosby-Ironton.
