HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL: Apollo ends Warriors’ win streak

ST. CLOUD — The Brainerd Warriors’ six-game win streak ended Thursday as they lost 6-1 to the St. Cloud Apollo Eagles in a Central Lakes Conference game at Dick Putz Field. 

Jack Hegarty pitched a complete game, allowing six earned runs, nine hits and one walk. He finished with two strikeouts.

Kevin Peterson singled and Blake Peterson’s double scored him in the second inning for Brainerd’s only run.

Reese Gregory allowed four hits in seven innings to pick up the win. 

Alex Funk was 1-for-3 with three RBIs to lead the Eagles (10-6) at bat. Austin Haugen was 1-for-3 with two RBIs and Dillon Jager finished 2-for-3.
