TRACK and FIELD: Patriots sweep home meet

PEQUOT LAKES — Jordan Anderson won three events and Nolan Michaelson two to lead the Pequot Lakes Patriots boys to first place Friday in the TDS Twilight meet.

The Pequot girls also finished first as they topped Walker-Hackensack-Akeley by one point. Helping the girls’ cause was Vanessa Lane’s wins in the 100- and 200-meter dashes. Jackie Brine-Doyle won the 3200 run.

Anderson won both hurdle events and the triple jump. Michaelson won the long and high jumps. Tyler Tappe vaulted to first. Sam Headlee (800) and Michael Ryan (3200) were also winners for Pequot, which claimed three of the four relays.

Pine River-Backus finished third and were led by Blake Demars’ win in the discus.

Logan Meyer won the shot put for the fourth-place Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines.

Rachel Craig won the high jump, shot put and discus for the third-place W-DC girls.
