First all-comers track meet scheduled Tuesday

Brainerd Community Education’s All-Comers track meets will be held at the Brainerd High School track beginning Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.

Meets will be held each Tuesday in June. There is no entry fee. All ages are welcome.

Sundquist named MVP of Warrior tennis team

Cole Sundquist was named the most valuable player on the Brainerd Warriors boys tennis team this season.

Other end of season awards:

Captains for 2012: Trent Anderson, Gunnar Askegaard

Most improved varsity singles: Luke Jacobsen

Most improved varsity doubles: Reno Fussy and Bobby Posch

Hardest worker varsity: Cole Sundquist

Most improved singles JV: Ben Hermerding, Kyle Johnson

Most improved doubles JV: Taylor Campbell, Jeff Grimsley

Hardest worker JV: Brendan Pelkey

All-conference: Cole Sundquist, Jordan Shiltz

Honorable mention All-CLC: Trent Anderson, Gunnar Askegaard

The team was awarded the gold award for academic achievement by the state tennis coaches association.

Jenkins, Jansson MVPs of Staples-Motley baseball

Jordan Jenkins and Alex Jansson were named most valuable players on the Staples-Motley baseball team this season.
