Two Lunkers to play in College World Series

With the California Golden Bears reaching the College World Series in Omaha last weekend, two Golden Bears who plan to play for the Lunkers this season will have a chance to win a national title.

Vince Bruno and Paul Toboni, both expected to be in Lunkers uniforms this summer, are part of the California team that defeated Dallas Baptist in the Santa Clara Super Regional last weekend.

Two weekends ago, Cal won the Houston regional, which included a 9-8 comeback win over Baylor.

Bruno was a big part of California's success. The sophomore outfielder from Concord, Calif., is hitting .301 with 13 RBIs.

Toboni, a sophomore infielder from San Francisco, has played in nine games for the Golden Bears.

California will play No. 1 overall seed Virginia in its first game in the CWS at 1 p.m. CST Sunday.
