NORTHWOODS LEAGUE: Rain, rain won’t go away

For the second straight night, the Brainerd Area Lunkers were forced to postpone their game with Duluth because of rain.

Tuesday’s scheduled game, also a rainout, was supposed to be made up Wednesday as part of a doubleheader. But persistent precipitation eliminated that possibity.

Now, weather permitting, the Lunkers return to action at 7:05 p.m. Thursday in Willmar.

And, to make up for the rainout here, Brainerd and Duluth will play back-to-back doubleheaders July 15 and 16 in Duluth, the Lunkers announced Wednesday night as the rain continued to fall on Mills Field.
