Crosslake-FL-PL remains undefeated

STAPLES — Crosslake-Fifty Lakes-Pequot Lakes took advantage of heads up base running and Staples-Motley errors to pull out a 10-6 win and remain undefeated in Legion play Friday night.

Staples-Motley was leading 6-4 going into the top of the sixth when miscues took over including an errant two-out throw by the pitcher over the head of the first baseman that allowed three runs to score instead of ending the the inning. The majority of S-M’s nine errors came in the final two innings.

“It just came down to aggressive  base running and taking advantage of the opportunities we had,” said Crosslake Jerry Braam. “It was still a fun game to watch because we (teams) know each other so well.”

Zach Cogan had a double for Crosslake.  Travis Noska. Cole Humphrey, Bryan Yackley, Gavin Bickford and Aspen Florrey all had singles.

Staples-Motley was led by Jordan Wick’s two hits and got solo singles from Austin Redemski, Tyler O’Brien and Jeremy Hoemberg.
