LEGION BASEBALL: Little Falls, Brainerd split

LITTLE FALLS — Jack Hegarty belted a pair of solo home runs to lead Brainerd past Little Falls 7-1 in Game One of Monday’s Legion baseball doubleheader before Little Falls came back to take the second contest 5-4.

Also finding success at the plate for Brainerd in the first game were Justin Eschenbacher, 2-4 with a double and two runs, and Nate Eschenbacher, 2-3, also with a double.

Little Falls managed just three hits, two by Collin Eckman and the other by Aaron Hallberg.

Hallberg went 2-2 in Game Two, including a home run in the bottom of the sixth, and scored the winning run in the eighth. Nathan Masog also went 2-2 including a game-winning single that drove in Hallberg.

Brainerd’s Bruce London went 1-2 with a double and Drew Sannes hit a two-out double in the top of the seventh to tie the score at 4-4.

Brainerd improved its record to 5-1 and Little Falls is even at 3-3.
