VFW BASEBALL: Brainerd evens overall record

PRINCETON — Drew Sannes improved to 3-1 on the summer as he pitched Brainerd to a 13-1 victory over Princeton Thursday.

Tyler Miller struck out nine helping Brainerd sweep the doubleheader and improve to 9-9 with a 3-1 Game Two win.

In Game One, Brainerd’s Ben Arnoldy finished 2-3 with an RBI. Conor Gessell was 2-3 with a home run and one RBI. Paxton Beadle finished 1-3 with an RBI. Sannes was 1-1 with two walks and two RBIs. T. J. Graumann finished 1-2 with two RBIs. Luke Patron hit a double and drove in two runs and Jagar Hanson was 2-2 with a walk.

Miller struck out nine walked six and allowed two hits and no earned runs in the second game.

Brainerd sweeps Monticello

Brainerd swept Monticello Wednesday 4-2 and 6-1 at Brainerd.

Earning victories from the mound were T.J. Graumann, who won Game One by striking out four and walking three. He allowed two runs on five hits. Ben Arnoldy went 1-4 with a run. Paxton Beadle was 1-3 with a double and a run and Dalton Tibbetts was 1-3 with a run.

In Game Two, Beadle struck out six, walked three and allowed one earned run on five hits.

Wil Schafer was 1-1 with a triple and three RBIs and Jagar Hanson went 1-1 with a run.
