VOLLEYBALL: Wadena-Deer Creek winning streak ends

ST. MICHAEL — Eighth-ranked Wadena-Deer Creek’s 50-match win streak ended at the St. Michael-Albertville tournament Friday.

The Wolverines, who hadn’t lost since the 2009 Class 2A state quarterfinals, were defeated by Minneapolis Southwest in Friday’s first match. 

They rebounded to beat Maple Lake on Friday. On Saturday, W-DC lost to Bemidji and Moorhead before finishing with a win over Simley.
