GIRLS TENNIS Staples-Motley advances to semifinals

STAPLES — No. 2-seeded Staples-Motley breezed to a 7-0 win over the No. 7 Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines in Section 8-1A quarterfinals action Monday.

The Cardinals took all seven matches in straight sets and advance to the section semifinals at 10:15 a.m. Friday at the Grand Forks Tennis Center when they will face the winner of Tuesday’s No. 3 Park Rapids vs. No. 6 East Grand Forks match.
