VIRGINIA — North Subsection 7-1A champion Virginia blanked the South No. 2 Pierz Pioneers 7-0 in the semifinals of the section team tournament Monday.


Virginia went on to beat Foley 4-3 for the section title. Foley beat Eveleth-Gilbert 4-2 to reach the finals.

Pierz’s Tarynn Kasper will play in the section individual tournament Tuesday at Virginia.

No. 1: Sam Silcox-Taylor Gunderson (V) def. Amanda Nordmann-Lisa Langer 6-1, 6-0

No. 2: Meghan Skaudis-Megan Skorich (V) def. Abby Bujalski-Sara Schlegel 6-0, 6-2

No. 3: Jessica Kralich-Jessica Bergland (V) def. Becca Froelich-Kendra Fuhrman 6-0, 6-1

Overall: Prz finishes 9-9. Next: Pierz’s Tarynn Kasper in 7-1A individual tournament 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Virginia.
