Warriors score pair of 5-0 victories

Brainerd defeated Milaca 5-0 and with a bye earned a 5-0 victory against all teams in the conference Saturday at Great River Bowl in Sartell.

Against Milaca, Sam Larson, Duncan Vinje and Steve Warta led the Warriors with 91.67-, 87.5- and 83.3-percent fills. Warta and Larson had 17 of 24 possible strikes.

In the bye round, Aidan Muller led Brainerd with seven of eight possible strikes and 87.5-percent fills. Warta had 78.5-percent fills and 9 of 15 possible strikes.

With one week of conference play remaining, Sauk Rapids and Brainerd are tied for first with 10-2 records followed by St. Cloud Apollo at 9-3.

The conference champion will be decided next Saturday at Southway Bowl in St. Cloud. Brainerd will face fourth-place Sartell and conference leader Sauk Rapids.
