Raider women pick up first win

The Central Lakes Raiders started a new month by winning their first game of the season defeating Fond du Lac 64-34 in a non-division game Friday in Brainerd.

Jalynn Lamb led all scorers with 20 points and also hauled in nine rebounds.

Nine other Raiders scored led by Emily Weber’s eight points.

“Everyone had a chance to play and that’s a good point,” said CLC head coach Dennis Eastman. “We had 24 points off the bench. We just have to improve on our shooting.”

The Raiders shot a cool 28-75 (37 percent) from the field and connected on just one of 13 tries from 3-point.

Friday’s win snapped a five-game losing streak.

“I told the girls December is a new month,” said Eastman. “We won our first game and look to win our second tomorrow (Saturday).”
