Brainerd JV Blue in top 8 at state
Brainerd Junior Varsity Blue finished in the top eight in the state tournament at Southpark Lanes in Owatonna Dec. 4.
After five games of qualifying, Brainerd was seeded No. 2 and after 10 games was seeded No. 4.
In match play, Brainerd defeated No. 13 Park and No. 15 Austin.
In the double-elimination format, Brainerd lost to No. 12 Faribault Green and No. 8 Faribault Black.
Faribault Green defeated No. 6 Winona/Cotter/Cochrane-Fountain City to win the state championship.
Aidan Muller, Austin Woods, and Jared Magstadt led Brainerd with 74.2-, 70-, and 65.7-percent fills, respectively.
Brainerd Blue ranked No. 1 in the state with a 173.39 average. The Warriors were undefeated in conference play and won the conference and the conference tournament to go to state.
Muller was named to the all-honors team for sportsmanship, dedication, and leadership.
