ST. CLOUD — The St. Cloud Tech Tigers were red hot Saturday.

Tech, led by Andy Foley’s 26 points and Kevin Heyesse’s 21 points, shot 55 percent from the field, including 60 percent (15-of-25) from 3-point to defeat the Brainerd Warriors 92-64 in a Central Lakes Conference game.

“This might be the best team we will play all year,” said Brainerd head coach Scott Stanfield. “I’ve been coaching awhile and have never seen a team shoot like they did. They also went 16-of-31 from 2-point range, and some of those came on put backs on the nine 3-pointers they missed.”

Brainerd’s Marcus Comstock finished with 14 points followed by Riley Kline’s 11 and Tommy Olson’s 10. Jack Sauer finished with nine points for the Warriors, which shot 41 percent from the field and 84 percent from the line, but didn’t have an answer for Tech’s size.

“Our kids played hard,” Stanfield said. “Offensively we were fine. We scored 64 points, but could have easily had 72 or 74. I think the kids were adjusting their shots because of Tech’s size. We also did a fairly good job against their press. We had 12 turnovers for the game.”
