PINE RIVER — Tatum Sheley led all scorers with 29 points and the Pine River-Backus Tigers won their fourth in a row, beating the Verndale Pirates 70-45 in non-conference game Monday.

Brittany Kelley and Megan Felthous scored 15 apiece for the Tigers.

Teresa Moenkedick scored 20 for the Pirates followed by Kristen Korfe with 14.

Verndale is 2-3 overall.

PINE RIVER — Tatum Sheley led all scorers with 30 points leading the Pine River-Backus Tigers to Saturday’s 72-37 Northwoods Conference victory over the Northome-Kelliher Mustangs.

Brittany Kelley added 14 followed by Autumn Ackerman’s 10 for the Tigers, who are now 3-0.

Staples-Motley — Jasmine McGillvray tallied 17 points and nine rebounds to keep the Staples-Motley Cardinals unbeaten with Saturday’s 63-53 non-conference win over Woodbury.

Bobbi Jo Mathe scored 10 points for the Cardinals, who saw everyone who played score. S-M’s Jaelin Beachy finished with 11 rebounds and Mikayla Wing added eight assists and eight points.
