WADENA — Ryan Redfield scored 20 points, including nine from three -point range as the Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines bettered Staples Motley 54-50 in Mid-State Conference action Friday.

The game may have been that close had the Wolverines not shot 14-30 from the free throw line.

Ben Birch tallied 12 points and Evan VanErp finished with 11 for Wadena-Deer Creek.

Seth Auger totaled 12 points and Grant Longbella chipped in with 10 for the Cardinals, who trailed by seven at half time before outscoring the Wolverines by three in the second half.

PARK RAPIDS — Caleb Baker lead all scorers with 21 points in the Crosby-Ironton Rangers’ 83-39 win against the Park Rapids Panthers in a Mid-State Conference game Friday.

Daniel Hudrlik added 16 points for the Rangers, followed by Jacob Goodwin with 14, Michael Hoge with 11.

PLYMOUTH — Daniel Newton tallied 21 points, but the Lake Region Christian Hornets came up short, losing 57-55 to the Fourth Baptist Warriors in a Minnesota Association of Christian Schools game Friday night.

Josh Gazelka contributed 10 points and 16 rebounds while Patrick Trout added 14 points and 11 boards.

The Warriors had a hot hand from the field, finishing with 10 three-pointers.

Matt Doss hit three shots from behind the arc for Pillager. The Huskies trailed by 12 at half time, and outscored Upsala by six in the second half.

VERNDALE — Josh Gilb scored 16 points and Dallas Ehrmantraut added 14 in the Verndale Pirates’ 58-47 overtime loss to the Bertha-Hewitt Bears in a Park Region Conference matchup Friday night.

The Pirates were outscored 13-2 in overtime after the score had been tied 45-45 at the end of regulation.
