MEN'S BASKETBALL: Unbeaten Raiders connect to win 13th game

Michael Farrington connected on all of his shot attempts expect one, scoring 23 points for the unbeaten and No.-1 ranked Central Lakes College Raiders in their 104-66 victory over Rainy River Voyageurs in the Central Lakes Invitational on Saturday.

“It feels so good going into (the holiday) break undefeated and starting off the conference season working together,” Farrington said. “What I love to do is go down the lane and shoot and my teammates opened that up for me. All my points were a team effort.”

Twelve players scored for the Raiders, including Kwamaine Johnson with 22 points, Maurice Hernandez with 14 and Kahreem Horsley added 11.

“We wanted to finish 2011 on a good note, we wanted to be 13-0 for break and the guys took the challenge and stepped up,” CLC coach Jim Russell said. “Everybody gets credit for this win, everyone played, everyone scored and the guys who didn't hit the court until the second half really stepped up.

“Rainy River scored 89 times the last time we faced them. We wanted to keep that down this time and we did that.”
