Boys hockey: Matt Pohlkamp, Warriors defeat Willmar

WILLMAR — Matt Pohlkamp turned in a hat trick and assisted on a fourth goal as Class 2A’s 17th-ranked Brainerd Warriors rolled past the Willmar Cardinals 6-1 in a Central Lakes Conference game Tuesday night.

Also scoring goals for the 8-0 Warriors were Mason Severson, Mitch McLain and Aaron Rich.

McLain, Jed Rusk and Cole Smith each had two assists.

Brainerd outshot Willmar 30-11 with goalie Jared Stearns giving up the one goal on a Cardinal power play in the third period.
