MEN'S BASKETBALL: Shep's beats Lakes State Bank on late basket

Shep’s beat the last undefeated team, Lakes State Bank, 51-49 on a basket by Aaron Otteson with 5.2 seconds left, creating a 5-way tie for first place in the YMCA men’s basketball league Wednesday.

Joe Hoelsched scored 13 points and Bobby Burton 12 for Shep’s. Luke Schramm scored 18 and Mark Shobe 11 for Lakes State Bank.

Ameriprise beat Elite Underground 60-42 and was led by Tucker Sheeley’s 12 points and 11 from Luke Schumer. Elite was led by Jeremiah Piepkorn with 13 and Eli Mackereth 10.

Pecarich Marketing defeated Black Ridge 68-54 as David Jermiahson made seven 3-pointers and finished with 25 points. Josh Oehrlein added 15 for Pecarich. Black Ridge was led by George Washington with 15 and Craig Hagen 14.

Garrett beat The Pines 65-53 with Garrett Anderson scoring 17 points and James Singer 16. The Pines was led by Bobby Gaulke’s 12.
