AREA GIRLS BASKETBALL: Miron helps W-DC past Thunderhawks

GRAND RAPIDS — Emily Miron led all scorers with 23 points to lead the Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines past the Grand Rapids Thunderhawks 61-45 on the final day of the Grand Rapids tournament Friday.

Caitlyn Volkmann sunk four shots from behind the arc and finished with 15 points for the Wolverines.

Miron and Volkmann were named to the all tournament team for W-DC, which improved to 8-2 overall.
