MINNEAPOLIS — Kaylyn Eggena scored the only goal for the Northern Lakes Lighting as they lost 3-1 to the University School of Milwaukee in the championship game of the Schwan Cup White Division on Friday at Ridder Arena on the campus of the University of Minnesota.

Goalie Kat Jensen recorded 33 saves for the Lightning, who are 3-8-1 overall.

Badger 2

In the semifinals Thursday, Northern Lakes edged the Badger Thunder 3-2 in a shootout. Kaylyn Eggena and Hannah Zimmerman scored for the Lightning in the shootout, during which Northern Lakes outscored the Thunder 2-1 to secure the victory.

The Lightning rallied from a 2-0 deficit behind goals from Mariah Reed in the second period and from Eggena in the third to send the game into overtime, which was scoreless.

BLAINE — Goalie Sarah Holm recorded 28 saves for LP-GE/Wadena-Deer Creek as the Blue Devils lost 6-0 to Moose Lake Area in the consolation championship game of the Schwan Cup Green Division Friday.

LP-GE/W-DC beat Worthington 7-2 in the opening rounding before losing to Green Division runner-up Middleton Co-Op 7-1 in their second game.
