Area Boys Hockey: Little Falls wins seventh straight

ST. CLOUD —Ben Newman and Austin Bjorge scored two goals each for the Little Falls Flyers in a 5-1 non-conference victory over the St. Cloud Tech Tigers Tuesday night at St. Cloud State University.

It was the seventh straight win for Little Falls, which had started the season 3-6 and has outscored its last five opponents 24-3.

Michael Holthaus scored the other goal for the Flyers and was credited with two assists, both in the middle period when Little Falls pumped in four unanswered goals after the Tigers had taken a 1-0 lead.

Luke Majerle had assists on both of Newman’s goals.

Michael Stumpf had 19 saves as the Flyers outshot the Tigers 42-20.
