Area Boys Hockey: Johnson scores game winner for Lightning

MOOSE LAKE — Dillon Johnson’s goal at 9:04 of the third period was the game winner for the Northern Lakes Lightning in a 3-2 victory over Moose Lake/Willow River in a non-conference game Thursday.

Andy Sorben and Austin Mesenbrink also scored for the Lightning and Joey Bergquist accumulated 29 saves.

WADENA — Jake Krause scored the only goal for the winless Wolverines in Wadena-Deer Creek’s 8-1 loss to the Park Rapids Panthers Thursday in a Mid-State Conference game.

WD-C goalie Scott McManigle turned away 28 shots as Park Rapids outshot the Wolverines 36-13.
