Area Wrestling: Gobblers, W-DC both fall short in duals


GRAND RAPIDS — Jordan Chouanard remained undefeated, but the Aitkin Gobblers came up short losing 37-28 to the 6-2 Grand Rapids Thunderhawks in a non-conference match Thursday.

Chouanard, ranked third in Class 1A at 145 pounds, improved to 18-0 with a 10-1 major decision over Alex Seaner.

Winning by pins for the Gobblers were Noah Landrus at 126, Brian Wold (132) and Adam Bast (195).
