Area boys hockey: Flyers win eighth straight game

LITTLE FALLS — Alex Nelson scored two goals as the Little Falls Flyers, ranked 18th in Class 1A, won their eighth game in a row, outscoring the Detroit Lakes Lakers 9-1 in a non-conference game Friday night.

Mike Holthaus, Luke Majerle, Joey Hanowski, Mark Anez, August Maciej and Austin Bjorge scored the other goals for the Flyers.

Flyers goalie Mike Stumpf stopped 14 of 15 shots fired by the Lakers.
