BOXING: Rubin, Perez win main events


Nate Rubin of Merrifield and Jose Perez of Wadena won main events Saturday on a Golden Gloves Boxing card at the Wadena Armory.

Rubin (140 pounds) beat Cody McManigle of Wadena while Perez decisioned Ernesto Mendoza of Fergus Falls in a superheavyweight match.

Other Wadena winners were Albert Boldt (120), who won by referee stops contest against Lee Bower of White Earth, and Taylor Geiser (125), who defeated Millicent Brown of McLaughlin, S.D.
