A 49 second pin by Levi Rubin highlighted a stretch of seven straight wins, which catapulted the Brainerd Warriors to a 52-15 victory over Sauk Rapids during Thursday’s Central Lakes Conference dual at Brainerd High School.

James Weiss, Sam Adams, Jace Engelman, Jeff Flickinger and Shane White also picked up pins for the Warriors, who have won nine straight dual matches, including five straight in the conference.

“We came out and wrestled very well in the lower weights by hanging in there and only giving up the major decisions instead of the bigger bonus points,” said Warriors co-head coach Mike Boran. “Once we got into our strength we started rolling and they weren’t able to hang with us. We wrestled very well. As a team we’re wrestling really well right now.

“These guys are coming to practice every day and working their butts off. I think we’re wearing other teams down. Our conditioning is very good and it’s showed with some big wins.”
