Warriors Girls Basketball: Warriors snap six-game losing streak

SAUK RAPIDS — Gretchen Kletscher scored 13 points and the Brainerd Warriors snapped a six-game losing streak by defeating the Sauk Rapids-Rice Storm 56-47 in a Central Lakes Conference game Friday.

The Warriors only committed nine turnovers but still had to overcome an eight-point deficit early in the first half.

“We started out slow, but we took care of the ball and ran our offense well,” said Warriors coach Brian McAllister.

Kayla Kraemer put up 12 points, Maria West 10, and McKenzie Veith seven for Brainerd.

“McKenzie really stood out tonight, she got us going, and played good defense,” said McAllister.

West added nine rebounds while Kraemer dished out six assists for the Warriors, who are 3-9 in conference play, 3-13 overall.
