Area Boys Hockey: Bergquist, Northern Lakes shut out W-DC

CROSBY — Joey Bergquist saved 28 shots as the Northern Lakes Lightning blanked the Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines 5-0 in a Mid-State Conference game Thursday.

Kegan Couture and Dillon Johnson each scored a goal and added assists for the Lightning.

Wesley Janson saved 32 shots for Wadena Deer Creek, which was defeated in December by Northern Lakes 9-5.

PRINCETON — Class 2A’s 14th-ranked Little Falls Flyers found the new Granite Ridge Conference not to their liking Thursday after getting upset by the Princeton Tigers 4-0 for the second time this season.

The Tigers also own a 3-2 overtime win over Little Falls on Dec. 13.

The 16-8 Flyers finish 1-4 in conference play and wrap up the regular season at Hermantown Tuesday.
