Men's Basketball: Top seeds win in first round of YMCA playoffs

The top four seeds all came away with wins as the first round of the YMCA men’s league basketball playoffs began Wednesday.

Ameriprise beat BlackRidge BANK 71-44 as Mike Zauhar scored 13 points and Tucker Sheley 12 for Ameriprise. BlackRidge was led by George Washington’s 16 points.

Shep’s defeated The Pines 65-60 behind 23 points from Eric Nelson and 14 from Aaron Otteson 14. The Pines’ Jesse Nelson scored 22 and Tim Johnson 12.

Pecarich Marketing beat Elite Underground 64-53 with Matt Pecarich scoring 14 and Joel Clough 13. Elite was led by Scott Huber with 17 and Eli Mackereth with 13.

Lakes State Bank defeated Garrett 47-40 as Luke Schramm scored 20 and Cody Nelson added 10. Garrett was led by Landon Hamilton with 18.
