AREA BOYS BASKETBALL: Auger helps Staples-Motley past PR-B


PINE RIVER — Seth Auger drilled six 3-pointers and finished with 22 to lead the Staples-Motley Cardinals to their sixth win of the season, 62-60 over the Pine River-Backus Tigers in a non-conference game Saturday.

Brian Huber added 13 points and Kyle Jansson hit three from beyond the arc for the 6-16 Cards.

The Tigers were led by Nathan Holm’s 30 points, including five threes, and Beau Howard added 19.
