GIRLS HOCKEY: Top seed ends Flying Warriors' season

MONTICELLO — The eighth-seeded Brainerd/Little Falls Flying Warriors were outshot 50-7 and were shut out 13-0 by the top-seeded North Wright County Hawks in the quarterfinals of the Section 8-2A tournament Saturday night.

The entire third period was played in running time as the Hawks owned a 10-0 lead at the end of two. They outshot the Flying Warriors 17-0 in the final stanza.

B/LF goalie Jodi Bertrand was credited with 37 saves.

Paige Voight scored a hat trick for the Hawks while Mackenzie Johnson, Dani Sibley and Rachel Heiber had two goals each.

Earlier in the season, the Flying Warriors lost 13-3 to the Hawks Nov. 25 in a tournament at Buffalo.

Brainerd/Little Falls finishes 4-22.
