Area Girls Basketball: Sheley scores to the top of list

PINE RIVER — Tatum Sheley had a milestone night as she broke the Pine River-Backus Tigers all-time scoring record during Tuesday’s 61-12 Northwoods Conference blowout of the Laporte Wildcats.

The previous record, set by Sarah Laposky in 2001, was 1,796. Sheley lifted that mark to 1,808 with her 20-point effort Tuesday.

The Tigers won for the sixth-straight time and remained unbeaten (12-0) in the conference.

Megan Felthous added 13 points for the 16-6 Tigers.
