RICHMOND — Two quick goals weren’t enough to keep the 10th-seeded Northen Lakes Lightnings’ season alive.

No. 7 seeded River Lakes matched those two goals and added another in the second overtime of Saturday’s opening round of the Section 8-2A playoffs.

Andy Sorben scored a power-play goal at 7:56 and Kegan Couture tallied another goal one minute later to give the Lightning a 2-0 first period lead.

River lakes countered with two short-handed goals to tie the score at two.

Tanner Anderson of River Lakes ended the game at 4:49 of the second overtime.

Northern Lakes’ Joey Bergquist made 43 saves.
