SNOWMOBILE RACING: Area drivers compete in various classes
ORA Vintage and late model oval races were held last weekend on Mille Lacs Lake in Garrison.
Jeffrey Schmidt of Brainerd was the big winner Saturday, winning the dash for cash Superstock feature as well as two of the 440 Superstock fan classes and was second in the 440 Superstock liquid class on vintage John Deere machines.
The final ISOC regional Snocross event of the season was raced at Hill City’s Quadna Mountain.
Evan Daudt of Longville, on a Polaris, finished his season with wins in the Sport class and Junior 16-17 class. With these wins Daudt won the season high-point championship in both classes.
Brandon Herheim of Hackensack was fourth in the Sport class on an Arctic Cat.
Cody Daudt of Remer was third in the Junior 16-17 final on a Ski-Doo.
Tyler Daudt of Longville was second in Junior 14-15 on a Polaris
The first MSRA Hillcross event of the season was conducted Sunday at Quadna Mountain in Hill City.
Robert Lange of Pequot Lakes swept the Semi Pro 800, 900 and Open classes on his Ski-Doo.
This Saturday, Quadna will host Round 2 of the series with classes for beginners, vintage sport, semi pro and 175-horsepower pros.
The Hillcross series comes to Ski Gull March 17.
The USCC Cross Country tour raced at Oslo.
The Oslo 100 was raced in place of the Red Lake –Thief River Falls I-500 that was canceled because of lack of snow.
Ryan Greening, Brainerd, on An Arctic Cat, was fourth in Pro Open and eighth in Pro 600.
Nathan Moritz of Emily, on an Arctic Cat, was ninth in Semi Pro Open and 11th in Semi Pro 600.
CJ Vandeputte of Pillager, on an Arctic Cat, was 14th in Semi Pro Open and 15th in Semi Pro 600
Cody Breitbach of Brainerd, on his Ski-Doo, was 17th in Semi Pro Open and 21st in Semi Pro 600.
The season grand finale is March 10-11 at Warroad with season titles on the line.
Farmington, N.Y., was the stop for the ISOC National series.
Lakeshore’s Cody Thompsen was ninth in the Pro Open final on his Arctic Cat.
Three rounds remain on the National Tour. Buffalo River Racepark near Fargo is the next stop. Friday and Saturday is the regular show and Sunday is the second round of three in the Vintage series.
