Area skiers compete in Birkebeiner

Seventeen cross country skiers from the Brainerd area participated in the 39th annual American Birkebeiner ski race Saturday at Cable and Hayward, Wis.

More than 9,000 skiers registered for the largest cross country ski race in North America.
