Area Boys Basketball: Sabres end Flyers season


LITTLE FALLS — The top-seeded Little Falls Flyers saw four players reach double figures, however, it was the fourth-seeded Sartell Sabres, who enjoyed a 71-63 Section 8-3A quarterfinal upset Tuesday.


Collin Eckman Matt Valentine and Jack Scott each tallied 12 points apiece and Grant Bell added 11 for the Flyers.

Both teams collected 13 rebounds, with Valentine snagging 15 to lead the Flyers.

Sartell led 33-32 at the half and were led by Tom Bearson’s 15 points. Also reaching double figures were Paul Coleman and Zach Jiskra with 14 each and Patrick Fisher with 13.

The Flyers had defeated Sartell 83-52 at home Dec. 20. They finished the season 19-7.
