Area Girls Basketball: Staples-Motley's season ends in subsection final


COLLEGEVILE — The No. 2-seeded Staples-Motley Cardinals, led by 13 points from Kelly Pearson, came up short against No. 1 Sauk Centre in a 58-48 loss in Tuesday’s North Subsection 6-2A championship game at St. John’s University.

The Cardinals came into the game ranked eighth in Class 2A, while the Mainstreeters were ranked sixth.

Jaelin Beachy was the only other Staples-Motley player to make it into double figures with 10 points.
