SNOWMOBILE RACING: Area racers compete in Snocross, USCC events

Area riders made the finals at the ISOC National Snocross event at the ERX Motorpark in Elk River last weekend.

Friday, in Pro Open, Cody Thomsen of Lakeshore finished eighth on an Arctic Cat. Dan Ebert, also of Lakeshore, was 12th on an Arctic Cat.

In Saturday’s Pro Open, Thomsen was fifth and Ebert eighth.

Mike Shultz of Pillager, in the Pro Am Plus 30 division finished second on a Ski-Doo.

In Sport 2 Saturday, Evan Daudt of Longville finished sixth on his Polaris.

In the Sport class Sunday, Taylor Ehresman of Staples was third on an Arctic Cat.

In Junior 14-15, Cody Daudt of Remer was fifth on a Ski-Doo and Tyler Daudt of Longville finished sixth on a Polaris.

In the Junior 16-17 class, Cody Daudt was fourth and Tyler Daudt seventh.

Sunday, in Junior 16-17, Zach Ehresman finished third on an Arctic Cat.

Steve Sherwood of Pine River was second in the Vintage Leaf Spring and was fourth in the Open class on a Polaris.

The Grand Finale is Friday through Sunday at Lake Geneva, Wis., followed by the season-ending banquet.

Cross country racing

The U.S. Cross Country circuit conducted its final races of the season on the lake in Warroad. The Warroad 100 was Saturday and the Warroad 75 was Sunday.

Ryan Greening of Brainerd was seventh in the Pro 600 and Pro Open classes Saturday. He finished ninth in both classes Sunday on an Arctic Cat.

In Semi Pro action, Nathan Moritz of Emily was third in the Semi Pro Improved class Sunday. He was ninth in the Saturday race and was seventh and 13th in Semi Pro 600 on an Arctic Cat.

C.J. Vandeputte of Pillager was 10th on Sunday and 12th on Saturday in Semi Pro Improved and finished 14th and 15th in Semi Pro 600 on an Arctic Cat.

The USCC banquet will be March 31 at the Northern Lights Casino and Events Center in Walker.

Ski Gull Hillcross

As of Monday, the Hillcross event scheduled Saturday at Ski Gull is on.
