BOXING: Rubin wins region championship

Nate Rubin of Merrifield won the 132-pound championship in the Region 4 Golden Gloves Boxing tournament Saturday at Wadena.

Rubin, coached by Todd and Troy Herron. decisioned Santo Reyes of Willmar for his title.

Region 4 winners advance to the three-state Upper Midwest Tournament at 7 p.m. April 14 and 1 p.m. April 15 at Northern Lights Casino in Walker.

Winners of the Upper Midwest tournament advance to the national tournament.
