Aitkin coaches Roth, Schoonover honored
Lisa Roth of Aitkin was named Class A head coach of the year and her assistant, Andrea Schoonover, was named Class A assistant coach of the year by the Minnesota Association of Dance Teams.
“She works so hard and is so dedicated to our dance program,” Schoonover said in a news release about Roth. “I don’t think there is a minute that goes by, that past and future dancers are far from her thoughts.
“She is so gifted as a choreographer and always pushes the girls to try and conquer the difficult, to believe that they can. She teaches the team to be gracious in victory as well as in defeat. Respect for coaches, parents and fellow competitors are a constant reminder.”
Of Schoonover, Roth said in the news release that “She is very dedicated to the team and always giving 110 percent. She understands that our mission as coaches is to lead by example. She believes that working hard is the only way to succeed. She loves to work with the girls and help them improve through the year and reach their goals.”
