AREA SOFTBALL: All three area teams lose

AITKIN — Steph Monse finished 2-3, and Jozee Fossom and Erin Host each had one hit for the Aitkin Gobblers in a 15-2 loss to Greenway in a non-conference game on Tuesday.

Greenway’s Kayla McInemy gave up just four hits to get the win.

MORA — Miranda Woitalla went 3 for 3, including a double and a run scored, as the Pierz Pioneers lost 11-5 to the Mora Mustang in Tuesday’s non-conference season-opening game.

Pillager 4

PILLAGER — Shayla Hunstad struck out eight Menahga Braves and walked six as the Pillager Huskies dropped a 5-4 game in their Park Region Conference season opener Tuesday.

Hunstad walked three batters in the third inning and all scored on a two-out double.

Carly Bell doubled and went 2-3, while Hannah Horn finished 2-4 with a double. Caroline Rasinski notched an RBI while going 2-4.
