Area Softball: Pierz rallys past Flyers

PIERZ — Elizabeth Tomola went 4-4 and scored two runs as the Pierz Pioneers came up clutch in the bottom of the seventh innings to get past the Little Falls Flyers 6-5 Thursday.

In her first varsity start, Tiara Hopkins walked two and struck out five and Megan Boser drove in three runs. Brook Brausen turned in three hits and knocked in one run.

Little Falls’ Jamie Jenks went 2-4 and scored two runs.

Sebeka 9, Pillager 5

SEBEKA — Caroline Razinski tripled and Hannah Horn and Lacy Hiltner each ripped doubles, but the Pillager Huskies lost 9-5 in Thursday’s Park Region Conference game to Sebeka.

Hiltner went 2-for-3 as did Carly Bell, who also drove in two runs. Kalley Ladouceur finished 2-2 with a pair of RBIs.

MENAHGA — Kirstin Korfe went 2-for-3 and Christina Wright was 1-2 with a double for the Verndale Pirates in Thursday’s 9-3 Park Region Conference loss to Menahga.

Elyssa Kern and Jordyn Glenz each drove in a run for the 0-2 Pirates.
