BASEBALL: JV Warriors defeat Upsala

The Brainerd Warriors junior varsity team improved to 1-1 after defeating Upsala 12-5 on Tuesday.

Senior co-captain Josh Davis (1-0) got the win for Brainerd, pitching four innings, allowing just one run on two hits, two walks, with seven strikeouts.  

Derek Knoll pitched three innings in relief, giving up four runs, two earned, on four hits, with two walks and four strikeouts.

Joey Noton was 2-2 with a triple, two runs scored, two walks, a stolen base and RBI.  

Tyler Miller also was 2-2 with a double, three runs scored, two walks, and an RBI.  

Brady Alters was 1-1 with two RBIs, two stolen bases, and was hit by pitch twice.

Next game is a doubleheader at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Detroit Lakes.
