Area Baseball: Flyers remain unbeaten with 10-1 win

ZIMMERMAN — Collin Eckman continued his season long tear at the plate with a 3-5 performance, and Spencer Fenske added a home run for the Little Falls Flyers as they beat Zimmerman 10-1 Friday to stay undefeated.

Four Little Falls players contributed extra base hits and starter Gabe Ploof allowed only one earned run off of seven hits while striking out four and walking two.

Joey Hanowski added two hits for the Flyers.

BRAHAM — Even Ferdelman struck out eight in six innings while allowing only one earned run in a 7-2 win against Braham in the Great River Conference game Friday.

Aitkin’s Dean Lynn and Travis Bare knocked in two runs each and Peter Zasmeta went 3-4 with two doubles.

SEBEKA — Zach Cogan knocked out a double and finished 2-4 with two RBIs for Pequot Lakes in an 8-1 victory over Sebeka in a non-conference game Friday.

Aaron Parker and Peter Kostecka also collected two hits for the Patriots.

Jordan Redmond earned the victory for Pequot Lakes as Sebeka managed just four hits.

PIERZ — Brad Meyer struck out four in a 4-2 complete game win against Albany Friday.

Meyer surrendered only two earned runs off of one hit and two walks.

Ben Boser went 2-2 with a run scored and a walk and Meyer and Trent Davis each contributed one hit and one run for Pierz.

KELLIHER — Russel Burgoyne went 3-4 with a double and knocked in three runs for Pine River-Backus as they defeated Northome/Kelliher 6-4 Friday in a Northland Conference game.

Anthony Phillipson pitched a complete game for the Tigers. He allowed two earned runs off of eight hits and struck out three with as many walks.

PR-B’s Derek Sonenstahl added a hit and an RBI.

Jake Krause pitched the win for W-DC. He struck out three in three innings of work.

Matt Laughlin hit two doubles and Christian Berg and Jake Rude collected two hits each.

Dallas Ehrmantraut and Travis Eckel each notched two hits for the Raiders.
