BASEBALL: Warriors JV splits with Aitkin

The Brainerd Warriors junior varsity split a double header with Aitkin on Thursday.

Brainerd won Game One 6-4. Derek Knoll improved to 2-0 by pitching a complete game and allowing four runs, two earned, on eight hits and four walks.

Junior Ethan Horn led the Warriors offensively, going 2 for 3 with four RBIs and a run scored.

Brady Alters went 2 for 2, adding a run scored, stolen base, and was hit by a pitch. Knoll added two RBIs.

Beau Erickson went 2 for 4 with two runs scored and a stolen base. Richard Thurmer added a double for Brainerd.

Aitkin defeated Brainerd 10-0 in Game Two. Henri Jourdan suffered his first loss of the season giving up eight runs, two earned, four hits and five walks.

In relief, Thurmer allowed two runs, both earned, on two hits and two walks.

Jacob O’Reilly and Erickson recorded the only hits for Brainerd (2-3-1).
