White no-hits Aitkin in Pequot Lakes win

PEQUOT LAKES — Katie White tossed a no-hitter and struck out 13 in Pequot Lakes’ 8-0 win over Aitkin on Monday.

Kayla Miller drove in two runs with a triple and Jessica Kreitz was 3-3 at the plate and scored two runs for Pequot. White, Lindzee Johnson, and Hannah Zimmerman each added two hits for the Patriots.

Rachel Curtis struck out six and walked as many in seven innings while giving up seven hits and six earned runs in the loss for Aitkin.

STAPLES — Megan Vetsch allowed just one run and struck out seven as the Staples-Motley Cardinals defeated the Little Falls Flyers 5-1 in a non-conference game Monday.

Claire Uhlmann went 3-4 with a double for the Cardinals.

PIERZ — Megan Boser went 2-4 with a double and a home run while driving in three runs as Pierz edged Holdingford 8-7 Monday in a Central Minnesota Conference game.

Tiara Hopkins went the distance for the Pierz in the eight-inning game. She allowed seven earned runs on 16 hits and struck out three while only walking one.

Pierz managed four base hits in the bottom of the eighth to push a run across for the win.

Elizabeth Tomala added a pair of RBIs for the Pioneers.
